Apologies and Ideas…

I don’t really know how many people read my blog on a regular basis. I guess for you to read on a regular basis, I should probably post on a regular basis.

So I guess I should apologise for the lack of regular posts recently. There are a few reasons why this blog has been somewhat sparse recently. The main reason is that I have been really busy. My university life is drawing to a close, which means I have projects and assignments due, and final examinations are looming, so understandably my mind has been primarily focused on that.

As I always seem to, I have a couple of little projects going on not related to my degree at the moment. They are sort of on hold at the moment because of the workload of university, but I wanted to fill you in because I want your help.

In the coming weeks, probably around the middle of June sometime I plan to launch a new blog. I will be moving to a self hosted WordPress blog, and would love some input from my readers at to what they would like to see on it.

At the moment I plan to keep the title, 5enses – the world around me, or at least something to that effect, unless I can think of anything better, feel free to suggest something. What I would like you to do is suggest content for me to have on the blog. Whether that is something specific you would like me to blog about or discuss, a post you would like me to write, or whether you just have some general suggestions.

So have a think about it, and either leave a comment on this post, send a tweet to @connormcc or send me an email with your idea or suggestion

Sign up to Feedburner, that way you can keep an eye on your RSS subscribers. There’s a WP Plugin that will handle all the links for you.

I love your travel photography posts. Even if it does give me seriously itchy feet – in the metaphorical sense ;)

Don’t know as well if you can give people who like taking photos but don’t have a clue what they’re doing (cough cough people like me cough cough) some tips!! :)

    Keep it simple.
    Larger pics are good too.

Thanks for the ideas so far…

    @adam done… thanks for the tip…
@brunettekoala I will continue the travel photography posts, and will start writing some non-photographer tutorials

@ phil, I will be limited in the size of pics by the theme, but what about using something like lightbox?

    keep the good ideas coming

@Connormcc – I’m not a big fan of lightbox myself.

@phil I’ll probably just keep static images then, I’ll figure out the max width I can put in to the posts and just run with that…

Just a suggestion, but how about a photo of the day/week? Could be one of your own or something you’ve seen elsewhere that has influenced or inspried you that day/week.

@RuthA thanks you have given me a couple of Ideas for potential posts there… My only concern is my blog was fast becoming a photo blog, which I don’t really want it to become, but I am thinking about starting a separate photo blog… maybe…
